The festival is championing Millie Bea’s Walking Wish once more in 2017..Millie Bea is a little 3 year old girl from Abbotts Bromley (Staffordshire) with spastic diplegia cerebral palsy. She needs an operation called SDR and afterwards intensive physiotherapy, which is not funded by the NHS.
Since Millie was diagnosed last year, her parents Natalie and Chris Hughes have raised an amazing £73,000 in a year. Millie Bea recently had her assessment at the Portland Hospital and thankfully she is a suitable candidate for the SDR surgery however the specialists recommended she have botox injections, she received her first injection on Mon 13th February 2017. IThe injections will take the tightness away temporarily so she can build up the weak muscles
The family are to go back in 9 months time to Portland Hospital with the operation penciled in for the end of of 2017.
