Meet the animals
There’s a whole host of friendly animals that call the farm home – and you’ll get the chance to meet lots of them! In the farm attraction area, you’ll meet pigs, sheep, goats, ponies, donkeys, ducks, pheasants and chickens, with the chance to pet and stroke our lovely rabbits and guinea pigs.
Hop on the farm trailer ride and you’ll have the chance to see and learn about our other furry – and feathered – farm residents, including our herd of beef cattle, llamas, emus, peacocks and rhea birds. And with so many animals calling the farm home, there’s always a chance that there are some new arrivals in the form of gorgeous baby animals to look at!
While bigger kids love nothing more than letting off steam on the zip wire ‘death slide’, the adventure playground area offers something for tots to early teens. With sandpits, swings, slides, climbing frames, a playhouse and mini ride-on tractors – and even a real-life fire engine to play on – you can let the children burn off some energy while enjoying a well-earned rest watching them play.
There’s nothing like a pony ride to get children up close and personal with animals. Throughout Spring and Summer (weather permitting), the farm’s friendly Welsh Mountain ponies are saddled up to offer youngsters the chance to enjoy a ride. With hard hats provided and ponies led by our knowledgeable staff, rides take place on the grassy off-road tracks surrounding the farm attraction.
Please note: Pony rides are subject to additional charge.
This activity is weather permitting and runs April – September
Farmer Ray is passionate about sharing the farm with wildlife, and actively encourages flora and fauna of all kinds to make the farm its home. The farm nature trail weaves its way through a woodland area surrounding a pond, all of which is being actively managed to encourage birds, mammals, invertebrates and aquatic life to take up residence.
See how many different species of wildflower, tree or bird you can spot or challenge each other to find different insects and animals on your way around the trail! Also, why not while away some time watching the birds at the feeding station from our new bird hide or see who’s in residence at the bug hotel.
When you’ve finished the nature trail, why not head into our Woodland Walk and see how things have changed over the seasons from your last visit?
Often, trail sheets and quizzes are available from the entry cabin on arrival to make your experience even more fun.Bottle feed the lovely lambs and get the adrenaline pumping on the new grass sledge track
